Production and Distribution

The production company plays a key part in the creation of a film, and many main roles. Some of these include;
       - The funding of the film
       - Spending, and control of finance
       - Key ideas
       - Script involvement
       - Organisation of film

The distribution company has roles that include, organising the release of the film, how it will be distributed and marketed, they promote the film, and deal with the delivery to the cinema. There are two main types of Distribution company, Major Studio; e.g. Universal, and Independent; e.g. Working   Title

For our film we decided to advertise on social network sites to get people talking, before then showing the film in the cinema. Using this type of media source (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc) will help us gain the interest of our target audience, and hopefully from an independent distribution company.

We considered looking into gaining the interest of a major studio distribution company, but we understand that they are only likely to be interested if our budget was higher, or we had more famous actors. As a group we have decided to call our production company 'Original Productions'. Our target audience is 15 - 24, and our film will be representing teenagers. After looking at how the BBFC go about placing age restrictions on films, my group had decided our film will be best being a 15 rating, this way we will reach our target/represented audience.
